[ The Brief ]
Theme packs for VS Code are everywhere, and most of them stop after the editor background: the workbench is a mishmash of whatever the default theme left behind, the terminal fights the palette, and diffs land in colours nobody chose. The good ones take weeks of scope-by-scope tuning that nobody wants to do twice.
CodeVibe Themes is a Visual Studio Code extension with two low-glare dark variants: Epic, a purple-magenta accent over a deep indigo editor, and Arctic Frost, glacial blues over near-black navy. Each ships 241 hand-mapped TextMate scopes across JavaScript, TypeScript and TSX, Python, Rust, Go, CSS, HTML, JSON, Markdown and friends, with semantic highlighting so variables, constants, and library symbols read distinctly. Beyond the code itself, 251 workbench colour keys are themed — activity bar, tabs, status bar, inputs, suggestions, debug widgets — and each variant carries a complete 16-colour ANSI terminal palette plus every git decoration colour, from added to conflicting.
The site is built to prove it rather than claim it: every preview on it is rendered from the extension's own theme files, not screenshots. The Themes page compares the two variants token by token, with each theme's JSON self-coloured by that palette, and the Playground drops both themes into a real Monaco editor — the same engine VS Code is built on — with switchable sample files in TSX, Python, Rust, CSS, HTML, and JSON, where one picker restyles the editor and the whole page at once. MIT licensed, published to the Visual Studio Marketplace, with the source and changelog on GitHub.
